The country’s drug watchdog is working with the US Food and Drug Administration on a plan to prevent the purchase of erectile dysfunction drugs in Ireland.
The move follows a letter published yesterday in the. A letter was filed in June on behalf of men who are prescribed drugs such as Viagra, Cialis, Levitra and Stendra from their primary care doctor and which is expected to be presented to the Health and Human Services Department.
The letter read:
“The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is committed to ensuring that men with erectile dysfunction (ED) have access to these medicines when prescribed to them by a primary care physician,” said an official of the health service.
“This is part of a broader crackdown on illegal online drug purchases, which is part of the broader crackdown on the supply of medicines to Ireland’s private health sector.”
The letter, which was received by the DHHS, includes letters from men and women who are prescribed the medicines and the guidance from the Department of Health on how to avoid the purchase.
The letter, which was sent to DHHS, will be presented to the DHHS Health Department’s General Medical Council.
“In order to prevent the purchase of erectile dysfunction (ED) medicines by private health practitioners and to reduce the risk of serious health complications, it is proposed that men who are prescribed these medicines by private health practitioners should be encouraged to report to their doctor,” said a letter to the DHHS.
The letter is expected to be received before the end of the year.
The DHHS is the largest health service in Ireland, with more than 300,000 members.

“It will be a good step for men who have taken Viagra for an extended period of time to avoid the sale of the drugs.”
